Price still wrong for Canadian shoppers
Canada’s retailers hold an important inflation fighting power: the ability to cut consumer prices by passing on the benefits of a strong Canadian dollar. But while Canadians may hope to see the cost of goods fall to levels similar to those in the United States, Douglas Porter, deputy chief economist at BMO Capital Markets says the reality is “this may be as good as it gets for Canadian shoppers.”
